The Dily News Longview Washington Tuesday November 28 1978 Station robbed Developer postponing plans for Homesteads -Locally Land use hearing slated "ow''tz County Planning Commission will hold a hearing Wednesday to consider relaxing land use planning guidelines concerning rural areas The hearing will be at 7 pm In the commissioner's chambers of the County Administration Building Planning commissioners are asking whether the county comprehensive land use rural-small farm designation should be reduced from 2Vi acres to possibly one acre Much of the rural land is classified rural-small farm Commissioners are only seeking opinions about the proposal No action is expected at the meeting In October Planning Commissioner Martin Carty asked that the change be considered would be extended across adjacent property if that is ever developed Monday he said it would cost him $15000 to pave the extra street segment required which would lie on a lot otherwise worth $13000 Kudlacek said he will write a letter to the Longview planning staff withdrawing his request for approval of his preliminary plat Because he had indicated he would do so before the deadline for legal notice of a plat Dally Newa Staff Writer A Longview Homesteads resident says he has postponed plans for developing his land because a proposed city street plan would make it too expensive The proposal by Donald Kudlacek 3412 Oak St for 11 single-family homes on his lot and an adjacent one has drawn vehement opposition from other Homesteads residents during the past few Planning Commission meetings At a workshop Nov 15 the commission tenatively adopted a street plan that would require Kudlacek to build an L-shaped street on his property if he develops it The Longview police were notified early today that a young man armed with a knife robbed an attendant at USA Petroleum a self-service gas station at the Fred Meyer Shopping Center Police said an undetermined but small amount of money was taken The attendant who was alone at the station told police he was approached at the booth about 1 am by a young man who asked to use the telephone When told that the phone working the youth drew a knife from his right coat pocket and told the attendant the The attendant said he removed currency from the till along with quarters and dimes and placed the money on the counter He told police the robber took the money picked up a screwdriver and went into the back room of the station briefly before leaving through a sliding glass door of the booth The victim said he saw the holdup man running south toward Ocean Beach Highway Police could not find anyone The attendant said the robber appeared to be about 18 or 19 stood about 5 feet 9 and weighed approximately 165 pounds He was said to be wearing
